ACTING PRESIDENT OF FIDE CONGRATULATES ART RUSSE FOUNDER

The Acting President of FIDE Georgios Makropoulos has congratulated Andrey Filatov on the bronze medal of the Russian national men’s team at the World Chess Olympiad in Baku. In his congratulatory telegram, Mr. Makropoulos said: «For the first time ever, a vice president of FIDE has acted as both the captain and head coach of the winning team. I wish you further success in promoting our great sport».
Since 2016, Andrey Filatov has been acting as the captain and head coach of the Russian national men’s chess team. In 2014, Art Russe founder Andrey Filatov was elected as the President of the Russian Chess Federation and Vice President of the World Chess Federation (FIDE).
