Pavel Nikonov

Nikonov studied at the Surikov Institute of Art in Moscow (1949–56). Nikonov was a member of The Group of Eight and was a founder of the Severe Style in Soviet art in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was a People' s Artist of Russia in 1994.
